Two legacies. One mission.

Creating opportunity.
Protecting the future
it makes possible.

Push’N Sunshine is a community initiative working toward a future where young people have a path beyond gang involvement, and the support to keep moving forward.

Our foundation is Sunny’s commitment to helping children find that path, and Push’s journey along it before her life was taken.

Identity · Discipline · BelongingBuilt from the care that changed lives

01 / Our foundation

The people behind
the purpose.

One helped open a path. The other showed how far it could lead, and why a future needs more than opportunity alone.

SUNNY

He built a culture
of belonging.

Sunny knew the streets because he was part of them. He helped multiple children find a different path through guidance, practical support, and a culture they could belong to.

He made education a priority, helped families with groceries, supported local businesses, and looked out for people in the community. The values he taught were reflected in the time and care he gave.

Sunny passed away in 2022. His commitment is the starting point of Push’N Sunshine.

He gave young people a foundation to grow from.

PUSH

She followed that path.
Her journey was cut short.

Push was one of the young people Sunny supported. She went on to attend an Ivy League university, showing how far that potential could take her.

She later lost her life to gang violence, cutting short the future she was building.

Her loss strengthened our purpose: helping young people access opportunity must go hand in hand with lasting safety and support.

Her ambition, her life, and her interrupted journey remain part of our mission.

Sunny helped open a path.
Push’s interrupted journey made protecting it part of our mission.

02 / The values we carry

More than lessons.
A way to move
through life.

Sunny taught Punjabi and boxing with a purpose that went beyond language and sport. He helped young people know who they were, practise self-control, and take responsibility for one another.

3hours on the road.
A daily round trip to school.

For our founder, Sunny’s commitment meant a three-hour daily round trip to school, helping keep education within reach and gang involvement at a distance. It was one example of how he put those values into practice.

Identity

Punjabi connected young people to their language, roots, and sense of self. Knowing where they came from gave them something to carry into the future.

Discipline

Boxing instilled self-control, patience, and respect. Those lessons extended beyond training into the choices they made every day.

Belonging

His consistent presence created a culture of looking out for one another. Young people had someone to turn to and a reason to believe their futures mattered.

03 / Our mission

A path forward.
Support that continues.

We aim to carry Sunny’s values forward while responding to the need Push’s loss made clear. Our planned work focuses on practical, consistent support for young people.

01

Mentorship

Trusted relationships and regular check-ins that encourage self-respect, responsibility, and care for others.

02

Education

Support to explore future options and connect with learning resources, helping young people see what is possible and how to pursue it.

03

Community

Safe activities and spaces that build discipline, confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.

04 / Help shape what comes next

Bring what you know.
Help someone
move forward.

We are looking to connect with mentors, educators, and community partners who can help turn this commitment into practical programs.
